Throughout the Astronomy Week ran a whole-school competition. Pupils from S1 to S6 were invited to research an area of Astronomy and produce a piece of work about it.

The competition allowed pupils to choose the format of their piece of work and entries ranged from videos of experiment, haikus, models, poems and Wikispaces.

There were over 40 competition entries but the overall winners were Claire Baxter and Francesca Drake (S3) who directed, produced and starred in their own investigative film about our Universe.

Runner-ups included Jamie Robertson’s home video of a rocket launch, Rebecca Law’s Dark Sky model, Alisdair Hodgson’s inquisitive video entitled “Is there anybody out there”, Greg Farrell's Solar System model and Chloe Scott’s Essay on a UFO over Galashiels (complete with photographic evidence!!).

Congratulations to the prize-winners and well done to everyone who took part. To see the entries in more detail click on the links at the side
