You should arrive for school neatly and tidily dressed and we strongly urge you to adopt the following dress code, especially if you are attending functions organised by the Academy:
School Dress Code
- A white or dark shirt or poloshirt
- A plain dark jersey or sweatshirt
- A plain dark skirt or trousers
Your Mum or Dad or carer maybe asked to sign a “dress code slip” if your group tutor feels that you are not adhering to the dress code.
Buying Items of School Dress
School ties, sweatshirts, and white polo shirts (with school crest) are available for purchase from the school. Order forms may be obtained from the school office.
New Pupils in First Year
For new first year pupils, order forms will be issued by your Primary School and can be handed in at P7 Parents’ Evening. The uniform has been chosen as it is relatively cheap, can be worn on most occasions both at and after school and is readily available.
Clothing Grants
Parents who wish to request help with the cost of uniform may apply to Scottish Borders Council for a clothing grant and footwear grant. The address for such a request is:- Director of Lifelong Learning, Scottish Borders Council, Council Headquarters, Newtown St Boswell, Melrose TD6 0SA. Clothing grants must now be used to purchase appropriate school dress.
