Medical Matters
The school doctor, who visits the school on a regular basis, will see pupils individually at various points in their school career and provision is made for BCG and Rubella vaccinations at the appropriate times.
Hearing Issues
The audiometrician visits the school annually to check on pupils with impaired hearing and the school as well as parents are kept informed.
Confidential ‘Drop-in’ Service
The School Doctor and School Nurse run a ‘drop-in’ service on a weekly basis. Here, you may discuss any health problems with the medical staff in total confidence.
First Aid
Several members of the office staff are trained first aiders who can deal with most cases of minor accidents or illness. In serious cases a doctor is called in or you may be taken to the local hospital. Your parents are informed as soon as possible.
Administrating Medication
Please note that the school is not allowed to administer any medication without the consent of your parent and the relevant doctor.
Pupils with Disabilities
The Academy keeps a list of pupils who suffer from certain disabilities which may affect their schooling or require special treatment and all staff are kept informed of these pupils. Knowledge of matters of a more confidential nature is confined to staff who ‘need to know’, but it is important for your own good that your parents keep the school informed of such matters.
