During your first year at the Academy, as part of your Information Technology course, you will be encouraged to use the World Wide Web in a safe and secure manner.
ClickThinking is a Scottish Executive initiative to increase awareness of Internet safety. For more details on this initiative, visit the Click Thinking website.
With your teacher's guidance, you will work through a Pupil's Guide to Internet Safety. There is also a separate Family Guide which your mum, dad or carer can look at.
As always with PDF files, you will require Adobe Acrobat Reader to read these. This is available free by clicking on the 'Get Acrobat Reader' link and following the download instructions.
After this, you will try the ClickThinking Quiz (Copyright of Galashiels Academy), which automatically assesses your potential safety on the World Wide Web. It takes about 5 to 10 minutes to do this quiz and you will receive a printed certificate, to show how safe you are on the World Wide Web.
