IPAD Apple ID problems

This information below is for Galashiels Academy pupils & staff ONLY. Contact your local school for help if you are reading this from elsewhere in the council area.

All Apple IDs were changed summer2022 & are now of the form

computer_user_name@ea.scotborders.sch.uk

eg jsmith125@ea.scotborders.sch.uk for pupils
or jbrown1@ea.scotborders.sch.uk for staff

When logging in if you get a message saying "do you want to merge data" click yes.

Then sign in. Use your Apple ID in the format shown above,. You were asked to set your pin to your Date of Birth, so if you were born on 31st July 2010 your pin will be 310710. If you havent set it yet the original PIN was 123456, so try that. & follow any instructions carefully to change the PIN.

All teaching staff have been given instructions on how to reset student Apple ID's

Staff Apple IDs

Staff Apple ID pin resets are a bit more complicated - for security purposes you need to set a mobile phone number for additional authentication. Contact the CGI helpdesk using the CGI webchat icon on your screen and they will sort the problem for you.

Please note Mrs Pritchard CANNOT reset staff Apple IDs - you MUST contact CGI to request a reset
