Home Economics
Currently the Home Economics department offer the following courses:

S1 - All pupils take Home Economics in S1 for two periods a week as part of the main curriculum. Pupils have the option to take a 12 week Home Economics option course in S1 as well. The option course is two periods a week and is based on developing an understanding of Scotland & its cuisine through practical lessons.
S2 - All pupils take Home Economics in S2 for one period a week as part of the main curriculum. Pupils have the option to take a 12 week Home Economics option course for one period a week in S2 and it is based around exploring continental cuisine through practical lessons.
S3 - Pupils may select Home Economics in S3 as part of their choices. This course runs for the whole year and is for 1 period a week, and is titled Food for Your Future. Pupils may also take the Hospitality Elective in S3 and this also runs for the whole year and is for 2 periods a week.
There are 2 course options available to Seniors; Hospitality or Health & Food Technology.
Senior school pupils may select Health & Food Technology at the following levels:
- National 3
- National 4
- National 5
- Higher
Senior school pupils may select Hospitality at the following levels:
- National 3
- National 4
- National 5
There is also a non-certificated Hospitality option for senior pupils to take, titled Skills for Life, where they can develop their practical skills ready to enter the life of world and work. This is a 2 period a week option
